About the Real NZ Police Aptitude Test

The NZ Police aptitude test is a key stage of the Police recruitment process. It assesses three areas:

The real test is approximately 60 questions under timed conditions. Questions are multiple choice with four options.

Important: NZ Police enforces a 6-month stand-down period if you fail the aptitude test. You cannot reapply for six months. Preparation is essential, not optional.

Why Practice Matters

Many candidates who fail are not failing because they lack intelligence — they fail because they are unfamiliar with the question formats. Knowing what to expect and how to approach each question type dramatically improves your score. The abstract reasoning section in particular requires familiarity with specific pattern types that most people haven't encountered since school.

The official NZ Police website provides no practice questions and no explanations. TestReady fills that gap with 60 realistic questions and step-by-step explanations for every answer.
