TestReady ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it, in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

1. Who We Are

TestReady is an independent online practice test platform based in New Zealand. We provide aptitude test preparation resources for NZ Police, NZDF, and Fire and Emergency NZ (FENZ) applicants.

2. What Personal Information We Collect

a) Email Address (voluntary)

We offer an optional email capture on our homepage and after completing a free practice test. Providing your email is entirely voluntary — you can use the free sample and skip the email field. If you choose to provide your email, we use it to:

• Send a free study guide and preparation tips
• Notify you of relevant updates to our practice questions
• Deliver your purchase confirmation and access link (paying customers only)

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

b) Browser Local Storage (automatic, anonymous)

When you use our practice tests, your scores and progress are saved in your browser's localStorage. This data:

• Stays entirely on your device — it is never sent to our servers
• Contains only your test scores, dates, and question performance (no personal identifiers)
• Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data or site data
• Is used solely to power your progress dashboard on the site

c) Payment Information

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not collect, see, or store your card number, CVV, or any payment details. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy and PCI DSS compliance. When you purchase, you interact directly with Stripe's secure checkout.

3. Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (e.g., which pages are visited, how long sessions last, which devices are used). Google Analytics collects this information anonymously — it does not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We use only the cookies set by Google Analytics and Stripe (for checkout sessions). We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.

4. How Long We Retain Your Data

• Email addresses: Retained until you request deletion. To remove your email from our records, contact us at hello@testready.co.nz.
• LocalStorage data: Stored in your browser indefinitely until you clear it — we have no copy of this data.
• Payment records: Retained by Stripe per their policy; we retain basic transaction records (amount, date, product) for accounting purposes for 7 years as required by NZ law.
• Analytics data: Retained in Google Analytics for 14 months (default setting).

5. Your Rights Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of any personal information we hold about you
• Correction — request that we correct any inaccurate personal information
• Deletion — request that we delete your personal information (email address) from our records
• Complaint — lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe your privacy rights have been violated

6. Third-Party Services

TestReady uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:

• Google Analytics (privacy policy) — anonymous site analytics
• Stripe (privacy policy) — secure payment processing

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over applying to government and emergency services roles. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
